Howdy, I'm Gaven Heglar. ​​

I am a Shenandoah Conservatory graduate - BFA Acting.

I grew up in rural small-town Virginia and I discovered who I was through Film and TV. I clung and gravitated towards the power it has and the hope it can give when there is none. Growing up there weren't opportunities to do anything creatively or express yourself, you were expected to stay put and get passed along until you rotted away or went on scraping; there wasn't much hope at doing work that means something. I fell in love with the idea that something that could change. I needed that, and something had to give. Film gave me hope. I'm determined to prove anyone can be more than their circumstances, and has the right to tell their story. 

 

This medium inspires me through how it can heal, cause positive change, and tell stories that other mediums aren't able. I believe that Theatre, TV, and Film can and should bring light to normally untold stories about life. I am forever thankful for my upbringing and my introduction to Film by my Mother and Stepfather, which saved and forever changed my life. 

 

I value a hard day's work and I aspire to work alongside like-minded individuals. With God guiding me and my family and friends support I know that with the right push I can be what those little boys and girls see themselves in, like I was.
